The school lays stress on regular exercise and physical fitness.

Morning games are organized on a regular basis for one hour each morning from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the sports complex, DPS R. K. Puram. Professional training is given in golf, cricket, basketball, and football.

One PE period everyday is integrated into the curriculum.

Regular participation in inter- school sports competitions.

Coaching in cricket for tiny tots of classes Infant and Prep is available.

Training given in yoga, aerobics, skating, martial arts and gymnastics by professional coaches.

The Indo- Japanese Exchange Programme between D.P.S. Vasant Vihar & two elementary schools of Japan has been a step in this direction and has helped cement Indo -Japanese ties.

 

E-mail contacts with schools in England & Australia are being maintained, which is likely to culminate in home- to- home exchange programme.

Sensitizing the children to the needs of street children, orphans , the physically challenged, the aged & the poor.

Regular trips to NGOs & social organizations, wherein children share a one- to- one interaction with the inmates.

Projects like ‘Each one teach one’ and ‘Adopt a Gran’ have also been promoted, besides charity sales held during festivals.

A major landmark in this direction has been including visually impaired children into the mainstream.
